TEXAS HEALEY ROUNDUP 29
STAGECOACH INN SALADO

Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet nor DARK OF DAY shall stop real Healey people from attending the annual TEXAS HEALEY ROUNDUP.

Actually, there wasn't any snow or sleet, however, there was plenty of rain.

The weather cleared late Saturday morning, bringing sunshine for the rally and the gymkhana.

The Hospitality Room Friday afternoon and evening had some scrumptious munchies and hors deouerves to scream about. Congrats to the Gulf Coast Club and, in particular, Mike and Anne Johnson for cordinating a great event.

We hadn't been to the Stagecoach Inn in Salado since the middle 80's and it presents a delightful venue. The bonus side of the Saturday morning popularity voting in the rain was you didn't have to clean your Healey since they were all wet.

NTAHC popularity winners:
Bob O'Neil - 1st in the roadster class.
Larry Reyburn - 4th in the Roll Ups.
Tom Taff 3rd - in Sprites category
BEST OF SHOW.......drum roll....Bob & Lynda Lindsey in the dark green BN6 with the GRRRRR front tag.

The sun appeared for the rally and was almost as bright as the NTAHC Rally winners:
1st Kirk and Renee Phillips
2nd Tim and Sherry Moran
4th Larry and Jackie Reyburn.

Following the Rally was the Khana. The course was tight and treacherous.
NTAHC Big Healey winners were:
David Freed 2nd
and Bob Gilleland 4th.
While Tom Taff walked away with another 1st in the Sprite class as well as the low time of the day.
Brian O'Neil finished 2nd.

The Grand Competitor was awarded to John Lomax who once again made the trek from Ontario, Canada with his traveling comrade Diesel.

Many of us should use Lomas as an inspiration to get out and drive your Healey. With reasonable maintenance, a Big Healey can be a tried and true road warrior - always eager to rack up those miles before the road runs out on another Healey day.

One of the more interesting sight at Roundup 29 was a battery powered red Bugeye. It had 6 or 8 Optima batteries and was a very sanitary "green" conversion.

At the other end of the scale there was a supercharged Sprite that looked quite formidable.

South Texas announced ROUNDUP 30 would be back to the Hill Country, namely, Fredericksburg.
